Awards:
Associated Builders And Contractors presents the STEP Platinum Award to Endeavor Electric for the year 2003. This award is in recognition of our firm's Platinum Level of Achievement and our ongoing efforts in the development of an exemplary Safety Program.
What is STEP?
The Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) program was developed and written by contractors, for contractors. The STEP program provides the following benefits:
·Provides an organized approach to analyze and further develop your company's safety and loss prevention program;
·Provides a valid, objective method to measure safety program improvements;
·Provides your company with safety performance recognition that can be used as an important business development tool with clients;
Criteria for STEP:
1. A Total Recordable Rate is 8.0 or less;
2. Written site specific safety and health programs;
3. Safety and health programs have employee involvement, for example, participation in self-audits, site inspections, job hazard analyses, safety and health program reviews, safety training, and near-miss investigations;
4. Have effective employee training for avoidance of hazards specific to the contractor’s work site(s);
5. Provide construction site supervisors with training equivalent to the OSHA 10-hour construction safety course;
6. Designated safety personnel who, through training and experience, are able to recognize work hazards and have the authority to take prompt corrective action. Training curriculum equivalent to the OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety course will be deemed to be satisfactory;
7. Have no fatalities or catastrophes in the last three years that resulted in OSHA citations.
