This program allows companies to thoroughly review their safety programs and enhance them to the OSHA standards. This in turn, helps qualify companies into the OSHA V.P.P. program About the OSHA Challenge Pilot Program: In May 2004, OSHA created the OSHA Challenge Pilot Program to provide opportunities for eligible employers from major industries, interested in collaborating with OSHA, to improve their safety and health management systems and work towards achieving Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) recognition and status. There are three stages of the Pilot Program with certain actions, documentation, and outcomes that are required to progress from one stage to the next. Once a Participant completes all three stages and graduates from the Pilot Program, they may be considered for expedited participation in the OSHA’s VPP Star or Merit Programs.
